About Me

Tiffany Cox, Psy.D., LMFT

Tiffany Cox In California & Idaho

I warmly welcome you as a unique individual with an equally unique history of personal experiences. As your guide, I create a safe space to support your growth by exploring with you how to take control over your health and wellness. I enjoy working with clients who want more than the traditional “talk” therapy. I have an active, curious style when examining symptoms of distress. For example, if we were to explore feelings of anxiety, I may ask questions to identify where you sense those feelings in your body, discuss the implications of stress, and investigate the triggers for it. This will enable you to create greater self-awareness and have better control over your symptoms. My philosophy is deeply rooted in the mind-body connection and our interconnectedness with the world around us.

My educational background includes a doctorate in Psychology with a focus on Applied Clinical Psychology and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am also a Veteran having served 21 years in the Navy and am very familiar with the military culture. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and have training in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure. I also have training and experience administering and interpreting various psychological assessments and report writing.

My professional background is with adults experiencing severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorders; trauma; addiction; interpersonal conflicts; life-stage changes; anxiety; and depression. I also have experience working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disturbances and trauma. Interventions I generally use include evidenced-based trauma therapies, psychoeducation about the mind-body connection; holistic interventions; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
